S.F.K. Pierikos (Greek: Σ.Φ.Κ. Πιερικός) is a Greek football club based in Katerini, Greece, part of the major multi-sport club of the same name. Their name was inspired from the State's name of Pieria. The club recently competed in the Super League 2 2021–22, at the Northern Group and got relegated to Gamma Ethniki.

History

History

In 1963, Pierikos played for the first time in the First National Division where he stayed for 9 whole years, while in the same year reached the final of the Greek Cup facing Olympiakos. Club's performances were often impressive, as it consistently finished in the top 10 of scoreboard of the league. In 1972 was demoted but returned soon. In 1975 the team got promoted to the First Division again and remained for 3 years. The club was then demoted again. Pierikos was promoted three more times to the First National, but never managed to establish itself again in the 1st Division. The biggest distinction of the club was to finish 3 times in the 5th place of the championship, but also the Cup final against Olympiakos in 1963 where it was defeated 3–0.

Pierikos FC je řecký fotbalový klub sídlící ve městě Katerini. Byl založen v roce 1961 a v současnosti hraje ve třetí nejvyšší řecké lize, Fotbalové lize 2. Klub je známý svými úspěchy v řeckém poháru, který vyhrál v letech 1963 a 1974. Pierikos hraje své domácí zápasy na stadionu Municipal Stadium of Katerini, který má kapacitu 6 200 míst. Mezi nejvýznamnější hráče klubu patří bývalí řečtí reprezentanti Vangelis Alexandris, Thanasis Dimopoulos a Giorgos Toursounidis.
