The Höttur men's basketball team, commonly known as Höttur, is the men's basketball department of the Icelandic multi-sport club Íþróttafélagið Höttur.
Hottur Egilsstaðir is a professional basketball team based in Egilsstaðir, Iceland. The team plays in the Úrvalsdeild karla, the top tier professional league in Iceland.
Hottur was founded in 1974 and has won the Icelandic championship five times, in 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, and 2003. The team has also won the Icelandic Cup five times, in 1994, 1995, 1996, 1998, and 2004.
Hottur's home arena is the Egilsstaðir Sports Center, which has a capacity of 500. The team's head coach is Einar Ármann Ólafsson.
Hottur is one of the most successful basketball teams in Iceland. The team has a strong tradition of developing young players and has produced several players who have gone on to play professionally in Europe.
