María Lourdes Carlé (Spanish pronunciation: [maɾja ˈluɾðes kaɾˈle]; born 10 February 2000) is an Argentine professional tennis player. She has a career-high WTA singles ranking of world No. 83, achieved on 15 April 2024, and a doubles ranking of No. 136, achieved on 25 July 2022.

She owns one singles and two doubles titles on the WTA Challenger Tour. On the ITF Circuit, she has won 13 singles titles and five doubles titles so far.

On the ITF Junior Circuit, Carlé had a career-high ranking of No. 9, achieved in November 2017. She played one season of college tennis for the Georgia Bulldogs in the United States in 2018–19, helping the team win the Southeastern Conference (SEC) regular season title, and was named to the All-SEC second team and SEC All-Freshman team.

Playing for Argentina Fed Cup team, Carlé has a win–loss record of 5–4 (as of March 2024).

History

2022: WTA debut

She made her WTA Tour debut at the 2022 Copa Colsanitas.

2023: United Cup debut, Maiden WTA 125 final

On her debut at the 2023 United Cup she lost her two singles matches against Alize Cornet and Donna Vekic.

During the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Carlé won two medals for Argentina. She advanced to the women's singles gold-final match, earning her a spot in the 2024 Summer Olympics singles tournament. Carlé would also win the bronze medal in women's doubles, partnering with Julia Riera.

In December 2023, Carlé reached her first WTA 125 final at the Buenos Aires Open.

2024: Top 100 and WTA 1000 debuts, first WTA 125 title

She made her top 100 debut on 4 March 2024 at world No. 99. Two weeks later, she qualified into the main draw of the 2024 Miami Open making her WTA 1000 debut. Two weeks later she won her first WTA 125 title at the Open Internacional Femení Solgironès in La Bisbal d'Empordà, Spain.
