Bangladesh Championship League (Bengali: বাংলাদেশ চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপ লিগ), simply known as the BCL and officially ABG Bashundhara Bangladesh Championship League since 2023 for sponsorship reasons, is the second-tier professional football league of Bangladesh run by the Bangladesh Football Federation. It was founded in 2012.
History
Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) introduced the country's first professional football league in 2007. The 2nd tier professional league began with the 2012 season of Premier League. BFF introduced the second-tier league in 2012 as season 5 of Premier League was commencing.
Bangladéšská fotbalová liga „Bangladéš - Championship League“ je profesionální fotbalová liga v Bangladéši. Byla založena v roce 2012 a je druhou nejvyšší fotbalovou ligou v zemi, hned po Bangladéšské Premier League. Ligy se účastní 13 týmů a hraje se od ledna do června. Vítěz Championship League získává postup do Premier League, zatímco poslední tým sestupuje do Bangladéšské First Division League. Liga je velmi konkurenceschopná a je v ní několik kvalitních týmů. Nejúspěšnějším týmem v historii ligy je Sheikh Russel KC, který dokázal získat titul čtyřikrát. Současným mistrem je Bashundhara Kings.
